A UNESCO Natural Heritage Site since 2001, due to its rich biodiversity and ecological importance, the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park has breathtaking beauty.
Located in the Central Highlands of Brazil, just 230km from Brasília, the park is known for its spectacular waterfalls and unique geological formations, with landscapes shaped by quartz crystals, canyons and plateaus.
There are many trails that run through Chapada, with the Trilha dos Cânions e Cariocas being one of the main attractions. Passing through various types of vegetation in the Cerrado biome, the route with stunning scenery gives access to the Cânion II well and Cachoeira dos Cariocas, excellent for a refreshing swim after the walk.
Another interesting route is the Trilha dos Saltos, Carrossel and Corredeiras, where visitors pass through areas of old quartz crystal mining, reaching the viewpoint of Salto do Rio Preto, a waterfall with 100m of free fall, in addition to Cachoeira do Garimpão, with an 80 meter drop and a delicious river bath. Along the way, a complex of waterfalls, canyons and natural pools delight walkers.
Visiting the National Park at night is also a unique experience, making it possible to observe the constellations and planets, as well as the fauna belonging to the region.
Outside the park, an unmissable attraction is the Vale da Lua, a sequence of rapids with stones cut by the waters of the São Miguel River, forming a true visual spectacle.
